Chippewa Valley may get free dental clinic

Eau Claire (WQOW)- The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic is looking to expand their services into dentistry.

They’re applying for a series of national grants to receive money for starting a free dental clinic. It would be the first clinic of its kind in western Wisconsin. The first grant would be for $75,000 to develop a plan for the clinic. They would then apply for another grant after nine months, which would be for $750,000 over the next three years. The Executive Director of the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic says he’s hopeful they will get the money, because it would really provide a much needed service in our area.

Free Dental Care in Benton Tuesday

A Benton dental clinic is gearing up for a very busy day.

Tomorrow, from 8:00 a.m. until noon, Benton Dental Associates will host a free dental day.

Patients will be served on a first come, first served basis.

Free clinic adds dentistry to its repertoire

A free clinic in Wisconsin is looking to branch out into dentistry.

The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic wants to add dental services to its repertoire to improve oral health standards in the region.

Brent Hafele, executive director at the clinic, said that free dental care was much needed around Chippewa Valley, with 60 per cent of low-income people in need of treatment.

Possible free dental clinic

If you’re uninsured, the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic is working to get you free dental help.

The clinic’s executive director says they’re looking into the possibility of opening a free dental clinic.

They’ve applied for a national grant that would provide almost one million dollars for the project. He says that money would be a great starting point and then the clinic would look to the community for funding. He says dental care is important for people to have.

Group provides free dental care for kids

Dr. Justin Bethel says Arkansas is near the bottom when it comes to the number of dentists serving the population. He says that makes access to proper dental care a real problem for a number of Arkansas families.

That was one reason his practice offered a free dental clinic Tuesday that ended at noon.
