Dental Care for Children that is Affordable

The SmileMobile is a dentist office that is mobile which is fully equipped and provides affordable care to children.

Almost 60% of children that are in elementary school have dental problems.

The goal of the SmileMobile program is to help those children who have a limited family income receive good affordable dental care.

Depending upon the income of the family, the parents will receive up to 90% off of their child’s dental care expenses.

The affordable dental service that the SmileMobile provides is nothing short of phenomenal and all it’s a great help since it’s difficult to find dentists who take DSHS, particularly for children. A sliding scale for fees is utilized for those people who aren’t Medicaid eligible, although Medicaid coupons are accepted.

Enjoying the Smiles

The SmileMobile is staffed by volunteer assistants and dentists. Three chairs are open at a time for children as old as 18 years old. The service the SmileMobile provides affordable dental care including minor oral surgery, fillings, preventive services, and dental exams. Those children who have more serious dental problems are referred for appropriate care.

Most people who need affordable dental services for their children find out about it until it is too late because they don’t call in time. So if you know a neighbor who has children in need of dental care, please let them know and have them give the SmileMobile a call. Last year 70 children participated. So year so far 50 children have registered and the goal is 100.

About the SmileMobile

The SmileMobile started 15 years ago with the specific goal of increasing the awareness and the importance of good oral health, expanding access of affordable dental care, and preventing oral disease. So far it has provided affordable dental services to some 25,000 children. The SmileMobile is in its ninth year of operation.
