The department of Social Welfare and Services found that people in the smallest administrative sectors (such as villages) in the region of the Philippines do have a very bad oral hygiene mainly because they do not have access to proper medical services.

Therefore, it has been decided that SM Foundation in close collaboration with Mahal Ko and Kapwa Ko will hold a free dental clinic of two days in the region of Cebu City.

It is expected tat during these days 1,500+ needy people will receive free dental care.

Several volunteers will also join the humanitarian action, coming especially from the Philippine National Red Cross Foundation.

The two days of the free clinic were scheduled for March the 16th and the 17th at SM City Cebu old V-hire terminal.

The clinic will operate every day from 9am to 3pm.

Connie Angeles, who is the executive director of the SM Foundation says that special attention will be offered for the citizens that come from remoter places, since there has been recorded quite a high incidence of transmittable diseases as well.

Free dental clinics are always a huge help for people with low incomes, with fixed incomes or for those living in very remote areas of a country where they cannot have an easy access to special medical services.

Volunteers and specialists from all the medical fields generally gather to make a difference in the lives of these people, who truly appreciate the help and attention that they get during one or two days of free medical care clinics.
