5 Ways to Make Social Media Work for Your Dental Practice

5 Ways to Make Social Media Work for Your Dental Practice

Most dental practices think that there is no room for social media in their marketing campaign.

This is a very normal thing to think. It is somewhat difficult for an average reasonable person to think that social media websites like Facebook can help bring in new patients or keep existing patients loyal.

Although it is rather difficult to quantify the kind of help that social media websites will bring to a dental practice, because the use of Facebook is for free there really is nothing to lose.

1. Network. This is probably the primary benefit that dental practices can get from social media websites like Facebook. By “liking” your vendors and the companies of your patients, you are effectively building a network around your dental practice which will bolster your credibility.

2. Make videos. Post videos of your patients giving their testimonials. Or probably you can post an informative video which will help your patients and those who just happened to stumble upon your profile to make wiser choices about which procedure to take.

3. Post before-and-after photos of your patients. What better way to tell the entire world how your practice has been helpful to your patients than the post the before and after pictures of your clients on your Facebook wall? Not only does this bump up your practice’s credibility to prospective patients but it also gives them a definite idea of how you can help them.

Dentists can talk about how your teeth can be straightened out but the value of a picture outweighs any dentist speech.

4. Praise your staff. Part of making your patients gain confidence in your practice includes singing your praises about your staff. Patients understand that a good dental practice is not just determined by the dentist but also by the hygienists and the other people that compose the staff.

Use your Facebook wall to recognize the “employee of the month” or give a shout-out to a staff member that has just achieved an amazing feat like finishing an enhancement course.

5. Ask for patient feedback. The best part about Facebook is the open lines of communication. Patients can communicate freely to their dentists without having to feel conscious. So take advantage of this and ask for your patient feedback on Facebook.

Ask for comments and suggestions but also welcome criticisms. In fact, take advantage of Facebook to answer any doubts that your patients may have on your dental practice.
